I am a stay at home mom who tries to squeeze some climate science/electrical engineering work in during my "free-time". My office at work is very lonely and the dust has been settling there uninterrupted since summer. I do a lot of career technical/science journal writing so other areas of writing have become so rusty I sometimes fear I'll never see them again. I used to do some travel writing and enjoyed it but the sparks of inspiration I felt when I started are still only sparks. I find Live Journal posting relatively relaxing and hope some writing skills will begin developing on the sly.
I am happily married the last 4.5 years and have a toddler son (Taran) and little girl (Tovi) on the way (due Jan. 30, 2007). We live in SE Washington State which is officially a desert with sage, cacti and lots and lots of tumbleweeds. Our location is at the confluences of the Columbia, Snake and Yakima rivers so thanks to irrigation we also have lovely orchards and vineyards among other agriculture surronding us. I am still adjusting to the lifestyle of being a parent and have traded my rollarblades, climbing shoes and mountain bike in for an all terrain stroller. The problem is my son wants to push it not ride in it so we don't get very far. My passion is doing almost anything outdoors. My latest exciting activity was sliding down a ten foot tall pile of dirt on my butt.
